'It's Shudu for MissSA for me' social media rants
It's official, Shudufhadzo is our new MissSA 2020! Halala 🙌
It was a very exciting Saturday for South Africa as we all waited to see who will be crowned MissSA 2020. And as a lot of social media users speculated, Shudufhadzo Musida (24) indeed did prove us right by going home with a sash and a crown.
Shudufhadzo Musida is one venda intellect who comes from Ha-Masia in Limpopo and has a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Pretoria. Currently doing her BA in International Relations at a leading, internationally-ranked, research-intensive university in South Africa, Witswatersrand.
Shudu is the 62nd edition of the Miss South Africa pageant winner, and she was crowned on the 24th October 2020 at the Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town. MissSA pageant is one show not to be missed that it was a 2-hour live broadcast.
While in the top 3, Shudu made it clear that she stands up for mental health.
Later this year, during the MissSA top 10 announcement, Shudu also found out that not only did she make the cut but she won this year's controversial public vote whereby people were invited to pay to vote their fave contestant into the top 10.
As the country's newest Miss SA, Shudu won a package of prizes and sponsorships worth over R3m, including a R1m cash prize.
Forget not that our MissSA will partake in the Miss Universe pageantry at a later date.
First and second runners-up, Thato Moselle and Natasha Joubert, walk away with R250,000 and R100,000 respectively. While both of them will also go on to fly the SA flag at prestigious international pageants (Miss World and Miss Supranational title).
Once again, with yet another proof that indeed black women are everything! Congratulations @abigailmusida
